Who Am I?

Throughout my life, there have been many influential factors that have affected my personality and my identity. Every year, I have experienced change in who I am, my interests and hobbies and my physical self has also changed. Three specific factors that have contributed to change in my identity are: my family, my friends and my experience in Puerto Rico.

A major impact and influence in my life is my family. Since I was born they have been teaching me morals, how to be polite and respectful, rules in the house and in life and much more. They are the ones that have shaped me to be the girl I am today. Sometimes I actually notice that I act just like my mom and have characteristics of my dad's personality and to me that just comes to show how big a part they have played in my life and my identity.

Another important factor that has influenced my identity are my friends throughout my child years and my friends now in high school. When I was little me and my neighbors liked to always play outdoors and living in Florida allowed us to be outside all the time. Because of that, to this day, I always strive to do homework outside, or exercise outside and things like that. Playing with dolls and toys I believe has shaped me into being as compassionate and gentle as I am today. My friends now in high school are all so different than I am and that allows change to come into my life and shapes up my identity into being who I want to be as a teenager.

Lastly, another important factor that has influenced and made an impact on my identity are the yearly trips I make to Puerto Rico with my dad's hospital. Being able to translate and help these handicapped kids in their wheelchairs and prosthetics has influenced me in such a way that is has opened my eyes and heart into wanting to become a doctor and work in the medical field. Evidentially,my family, my friends, and my community service in Puerto Rico has helped develop my personality and my identity in who I am and who I would like to be.
